If you still get "Unable to request SHSH hot," the harsh truth is that 3uTools cannot revive your restore. In this case, you have three choices:

The ECID (Exclusive Chip ID) is a unique identifier for your iPhone or iPad. If 3uTools misreads the ECID (common with fake cables or faulty USB ports), the SHSH request will be rejected.

Outdated software is a silent killer.

Q: Can I still restore if the SHSH request fails? A: No. Without a valid SHSH blob (either saved or hot-fetched), iTunes/3uTools cannot flash the firmware. The restore will fail at 10-20%.

Q: Is it safe to disable antivirus for 3uTools? A: Yes, temporarily. But re-enable it after the flash. Do not browse the internet while AV is off.

Q: Does “Unable to Request SHSH Hot” mean my iPhone is bricked? A: No. Your device is fine. The error is on the software/Apple signing side. Your iPhone remains in recovery mode and can be restored to a signed iOS version.

Q: Why does my friend’s 3uTools work but mine doesn’t? A: Your friend may have saved SHSH blobs previously, or their iOS version is still signed for their specific device model (e.g., iPhone 8 might be signed while iPhone 14 is not for the same iOS version).
