Akruti 7.0 uses a special keyboard layout – not standard Odia typing.
Option A – Use Akruti’s own IME (if included)
Some versions come with an Setup.exe for keyboard driver. Run it in Windows 7 compatibility mode:
Option B – Use Microsoft Keyboard Layout Creator (MSKLC)
If you have the keyboard mapping (.klc file), you can create a custom layout:
Option C – Manual (advanced)
Rename your system’s KBDINORI.DLL (Odia InScript layout) – not recommended unless you know registry editing.
Once installed, you will find Akruti Pro in your Start Menu. However, to type Odia in other applications (like Microsoft Word 2019 or 365), follow these steps:
