The name AMTEmU stands for Adobe Licensing Toolkit Emulator. It mimics the genuine Adobe licensing communication process, tricking Adobe applications into believing they have been legitimately activated.

PainteR’s philosophy was unique: instead of modifying hundreds of .dll or .exe files (which break with every update), he created a universal emulator that sat between the Adobe app and the activation servers.
