AutoCAD 2000 was built on the Windows 9x/NT architecture. It makes deep registry entries in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE, installs device drivers for its HDI (Heidi Device Interface) for plotting, and requires specific versions of acad.exe with hard-coded path references. Moving the installation folder to D:\USB\CAD will break path resolution for support files, fonts, and pen tables.
