يَا عَبْدَ اللهِ ابْنَ أَمَةِ اللهِ، أُذَكِّرُكَ بِاللهِ وَبِيَوْمِ الْآخِرَةِ، أَنَّ اللهَ تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى نَعَى إِلَيْكَ رُوْحَكَ، وَأَنْزَلَ عَلَيْكَ السَّكِيْنَةَ، وَقَدْ سَأَلَكَ رُوْحًا طَيِّبًا وَرِضْوَانًا مِنْهُ، فَإِذَا أَتَاكَ الْمَلَكَانِ: مُنْكَرٌ وَنَكِيْرٌ، يَسْأَلَانِكَ عَنْ رَبِّكَ، وَعَنْ نَبِيِّكَ، وَعَنْ دِيْنِكَ، وَعَنْ قِبْلَتِكَ، فَلَا تَخَفْ وَلَا تَحْزَنْ، وَقُلْ:

Talqin Mayit adalah anjuran untuk mengingatkan atau melazimi mayit yang sudah selesai dikubur dengan kalimat syahadat atau kalimat tauhid. Tujuannya agar kalimat terakhir yang melekat di hati dan pendengaran mayit adalah kalimat tauhid sebelum ia menghadapi pertanyaan malaikat Munkar dan Nakir.
