Blcmm Invalid File Selected May 2026

If the error occurs when opening a specific mod file:

This fixes 90% of instances related to game launching.

  • Locate patch.txt.
  • Delete patch.txt.
  • Open BLCMM.
  • Go to Settings -> Game Setup.
  • Click "Verify Game Paths" or let BLCMM detect the game.
  • BLCMM should automatically regenerate a fresh, clean patch.txt.
  • Contact vendor or forum support if:

    Uninstall BLCMM completely. Delete the %LOCALAPPDATA%\BLCMM folder (Windows). This removes all cached schemas and settings. Reinstall the latest version fresh.

    The Borderlands modding scene is slowly moving toward OpenHotfix (executable: OpenHotfixLoader.exe). Many new mods are no longer compatible with BLCMM. If your "invalid file" persists, the mod author may have intended for OpenHotfix only. blcmm invalid file selected
