To progress through the main story, follow these fundamental mechanics:

Chapter Advancement: Generally, you must complete a Shapeshifter's Temple and then return to your study to update your notes to trigger the next chapter.

First Temple: To start the main quest, sleep at your home to receive a visit. The following day, find Alpharius in the Mage Guild to be guided to the first temple. Boss: Inquisitor Malkor (first duel):

Unlock Transformations: Finishing a temple unlocks new forms, such as the mouse transformation, which is used to enter small passages and is activated via the "W" key.
