Abstract: The digital age has democratized access to global cinema but has also given rise to large-scale online piracy. This paper examines a specific case study: the availability of the Hindi action film Dhoom 2 (2006), dubbed in Telugu, on the notorious piracy website Jio Rockers. By analyzing the film’s cultural appeal, the mechanics of the piracy platform, and the legal-economic ramifications, this paper argues that while sites like Jio Rockers fulfill an unmet demand for accessible, free content, they fundamentally undermine the film industry’s revenue models, intellectual property rights, and the viability of regional dubbing industries.
