Epson Adjustment Program L3156 Access

You will know you need the Epson L3156 Adjustment Program when your printer displays one of the following:

At this point, the printer is artificially disabled. The only way to revive it without a technician is to run the adjustment program.


Q: Will resetting the counter improve print quality?
No. It only removes the software lock. For clogged nozzles, use the head cleaning function inside the same adjustment program. epson adjustment program l3156

Q: Can I use this program on a Mac?
No. Run it on Windows or via a virtual machine (Parallels/VMware with USB passthrough).

Q: How many times can I reset the L3156?
Theoretically unlimited. However, Epson’s firmware updates may block the tool after 2-3 resets. You will know you need the Epson L3156

Q: Does Epson know if I used the program?
Yes, logs are stored in EEPROM. If you send the printer for repair, they will see the counter was illegally reset and refuse service.

Q: My L3156 is working fine – should I reset it preventatively?
Never. Only reset when the error appears. Premature resetting can cause misaligned pad detection. At this point, the printer is artificially disabled


Switch on the L3156. The error lights should be gone. Print a nozzle check. If the printer starts grinding or ink leaks out – you skipped the physical pad check.


If the L3156 is producing faint prints or has clogged nozzles, the standard cleaning via the computer might not be enough.
