Fanuc Ot 900 Parameter List Official

Marco arrived at 12:30 AM. He pulled out his worn-out Fanuc OT manual – but the 900 parameters in the book were generic. Every machine builder (Mazak, Mori Seiki, Doosan, Takumi) sets their own 900-series bits differently.

“Diego, find the machine’s original parameter list. It should be in the electrical cabinet door.”

Diego opened the cabinet. Behind a taped plastic sleeve was a faded, coffee-stained sheet titled “Machine Parameter Settings – Fanuc OT (as shipped)". At the bottom of the first page: “Parameter No. 900–939 option settings.”

It looked like this (hypothetical, for a Takumi lathe):

| Param | Bit 7 | Bit 6 | Bit 5 | Bit 4 | Bit 3 | Bit 2 | Bit 1 | Bit 0 | |-------|-------|-------|-------|-------|-------|-------|-------|-------| | 900 | 0 | 0 | 1 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 1 | | 901 | 0 | 1 | 0 | 0 | 1 | 0 | 0 | 0 | | 902 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 1 | 1 | 0 | 0 | | 903 | 1 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 1 | | 904 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 1 | 0 | | 905 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 | fanuc ot 900 parameter list

… and so on up to 939.

| Bit | Name | Function | | :--- | :--- | :--- | | 0 | SHP2 | Shop floor programming 2 | | 1 | NUR | NURBS interpolation (spline machining) | | 2 | QVS | Quick view solid (3D graphics) | | 3 | CLK | Clock function (#3001 time variables) | | 4 | BSK | Block skip (/) function extension | | 5 | PCH | Punching cycle pack | | 6 | SCB | Skip cycle block | | 7 | CAM | Cam cycle (for hydraulic cam machines) |

This parameter defines how the spindle amplifier communicates with the CNC.

  • Bit 1-7: Usually reserved for specific servo types depending on the generation (Model A vs Model B servo amps).
  • Here is the Feature / List of Fanuc OT 900 Parameters. Marco arrived at 12:30 AM

In Fanuc OT (and many 0-series controls), parameters 900–999 are "Option Parameters" or "Machine-Specific Parameters".
They are NOT standardized across all machines — their exact meaning depends on the machine tool builder (Mori Seiki, Haas, Nakamura, Okuma, Leadwell, etc.).

However, there is a common core set of option bits for Fanuc 0T (Model A/B/C). These are typically set at the factory and should not be changed without a backup.

    | Bit | Function | |------|-----------| | 7 | DNC drip-feed baud rate override | | 6 | Remote buffer (32K) enable – required for complex programs | | 5 | High-speed serial (RS-422/RS-232C) | | 4 | Tape mode without parity check | | 3-0 | Communication protocol version |

With the machine in MDI mode, PWE (parameter write enable) set to 1, and the emergency stop engaged, Marco carefully entered each 900 parameter manually from the sheet. Bit 1-7: Usually reserved for specific servo types

When he hit 903 = 10000001 (binary), that re-enabled the PMC’s custom ladder.
When he set 910 bit 6 = 1, rigid tapping came back.
When he set 932 bit 0 = 1, the fourth axis (which Diego had forgotten existed) was recognized.

After cycling power, the green “Ready” light shone. Diego ran a test program. The turret indexed, the spindle oriented, the coolant turned on.

“Fixed,” Marco said. “But next time, photocopy that 900 list and store it in three places: cloud, safety box, and filed under ‘HOLY GRAIL’.”
