Fast Five Full May 2026

At its heart, Fast Five is an Ocean’s Eleven remake with supercharged V8s.

The target: a drug lord’s safe containing $100 million, sitting inside a police station vault. The problem: You can’t hack it, and you can’t carry it. The solution: Two Dodge Chargers. Dom and Brian attach massive reinforced steel cables to the vault, rip it out of the wall, and drag it through the streets of Rio.

The final chase is absurd, physics-defying, and utterly glorious. Watching a 10-ton concrete safe swing like a wrecking ball, obliterating police cars and streetside kiosks, is pure cinematic candy. It abandoned realism for spectacle, and the franchise never looked back.

Dom (Vin Diesel) is in prison. Brian (Paul Walker) breaks him out. They hide out in Rio de Janeiro, where they piss off a ruthless drug lord (Joaquim de Almeida) and a no-nonsense federal agent (Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson). Their only way out? Steal $100 million from a corrupt businessman’s police vault.

Yes, you read that right. They steal from the cops.

The final 30 minutes of the Fast Five full film are legendary. Dom and Brian attach two heavily modified Dodge Charger SRT8s to Reyes’ vault and literally drag it through the city, crushing cop cars, smashing through favelas, and even driving across a hospital roof. Hobbs, who initially hunted them, joins forces to stop Reyes. fast five full

In the end, they deliver the vault to the ocean docks, open it to find the $100 million, and kill Reyes. Hobbs, respecting their code, gives them a 24-hour head start.

Fast Five (2011) is the fifth film in the Fast & Furious franchise and the point where the series fully pivots from street-racing drama to high-octane action-heist spectacle.

Rating: 3.5/5 — highly enjoyable for action fans.

Most heist movies end with the crew sipping drinks on a beach. Fast Five does that—Dom, Brian, and Mia toast to their $100 million. But then, the camera pans to a photo on the table.

It’s Letty.

Then, a mysterious woman (Eva Mendes) hands Dom a file. Inside is a photo of a crashed car in the desert and one name: Owen Shaw.

In a 30-second post-credits scene, Fast Five set up Fast & Furious 6 and retroactively resurrected a dead character. It was the moment the franchise realized it didn't have to follow rules. If the family wants someone back, the family gets them back.

Q: How long is the Fast Five full movie? A: Theatrical: 130 minutes. Extended: 131 minutes.

The film opens with a sequence that feels like a series finale. Dom (Vin Diesel) is being transported to Lonsmax Penitentiary in a prison bus. Brian (Paul Walker) and the team intercept it in a set-piece that involves flipping the bus, a drag race, and a near-death canyon jump.

From there, the crew is scattered. They are wanted fugitives with no cars, no money, and no country willing to take them. Their solution? Hide out in the criminal playground of Rio de Janeiro.

This is where the tone shifts. The neon-lit streets of LA are replaced by the sun-baked favelas of Brazil. The stakes aren’t about pink slips or respect anymore. It’s about survival.

If you ask a group of Fast & Furious fans to name the best movie in the series, you’ll get a heated debate. Some swear by the street-racing roots of The Fast and the Furious (2001). Others defend the emotional torque of Furious 7. Rating: 3

But for the majority, the answer is clear: Fast Five (2011).

A decade before the family went to space or fought submarines, Fast Five did something miraculous. It took a dying franchise about illegal street racing and rebooted it into a globe-trotting, muscle-car heist thriller. It is the fulcrum on which the entire series pivots. Here is why, 15 years later, Fast Five remains the gold standard of the franchise.
