The film received mixed reviews from critics. While praised for its production values and the chemistry between MacFarlane and Theron, it was criticized for its lengthy runtime and inconsistent humor. Despite the mixed critical reception, it developed a cult following among fans of MacFarlane’s specific style of satirical humor.
