Format Factory 32 Bit Windows 7 Old Version Extra Quality 〈No Ads〉

We tested Format Factory 3.9.2 (32-bit) vs. Format Factory 4.9.5 (64-bit, but forced to run on 32-bit Win7 via compatibility mode). The source was a 720x480 MPEG-2 DVD file (5.2 Mbps). Target: H.264 MP4 at 2000 kbps.

Conclusion: The older version produced a 5-10% perceptual quality improvement at the cost of speed. We tested Format Factory 3

Solution: Install the Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2013 (x86 version). Even on 64-bit Windows 7, the 32-bit Format Factory needs the 32-bit runtime.
