Before the "DirectX 3.0" craze, there was SkyGFX. This mod back-ports the lighting engine from GTA: Vice City and Bully to San Andreas. When combined with MixSets (a scripting mod), it creates a pseudo-PBR (Physically Based Rendering) environment that mimics modern DirectX 3.0 aesthetics.
Water in San Andreas has always been a point of contention for modders. SA DirectX 3.0 adds advanced shader support to water, making it translucent, reflective, and reactive to light.
