Solution: Since there is no "reset" button on many HiLook NVRs, you must use the SADP (Search Active Devices Protocol) tool. Download Hikvision SADP on a Windows PC on the same network as the NVR. It will find the NVR and allow you to export an "XML reset file." Send that file to Hikvision support (or use the security question you set up in the wizard).
