Keep a separate folder called Reference_Mods. In this folder, save files with notes in the filename, e.g., Stock_Base_OS_12658062.hpt and Same_OS_With_37in_Tires.hpt.
If the file is for a 6L80 or 4L60E, look at Transmission > Torque Management > Abuse Mode.
HP Tuners has attempted to mitigate this by allowing tuners to set a "Do Not Share" (DNS) flag on a file when they initially write it to a vehicle. In theory, if a file is DNS-flagged, the MPVI will refuse to upload it to the Repository. hp tuners tune repository
