Ikariam Pirate -
Day 1: Start your capital as normal. Build Academy -> Winemakers -> Shipyard. Day 3: Research "Rams." Build 15 Ramming Ships. Attack the inactive Level 5 player on your island. Steal their wood. Day 5: Build a second colony on a "Ghost Island" (far from your capital). Send your fleet there. Day 7: Research "Ballista." Upgrade fleet to 40 Ballista Ships. Intercept your first trans-oceanic cargo shipment. You now have 10,000 marble. Day 10: Build your "Pirate Fortress" town with level 10 Hideout. Your identity is hidden. Day 14: Congratulate yourself. You have successfully abandoned the boring life of a farmer. You now live by the sword (and the Ballista).
Don't waste your time on active, alliances players (unless you want a war). The most profitable targets are inactive players (ghost towns). These players have stopped playing, often have no army, and have stockpiles of resources gathering dust. Look for towns with low "General" scores.
Instead of stealing marble, steal only sulphur. Control the sulphur islands in your region via piracy. If no one in the region can build ships, you own the ocean. ikariam pirate
Create a level 1 account on a separate browser. Use that account to attack a target first. They destroy the decoy. While they are laughing, your main pirate fleet ambushes their now-weakened navy.
Piracy is illegal on most servers. If you fly your main alliance flag, you will be hunted. Create a Level 1 colony on a remote island (Sector 88 or 100). Build only a Hideout and a Shipyard. Do not join an alliance with that town. Send your pirate fleet there. Attack from that town. When the victim searches your name, they see a single, worthless town with no resources. They will not waste their army traveling 12 hours to retaliate against a ghost. Day 1: Start your capital as normal
Yes, but with a caveat. The meta of Ikariam has shifted toward large, peaceful trading cartels. However, "Pirates" are still the most effective way to break a monopoly.
If an alliance is cornering the market on marble, no amount of diplomacy will lower the price. But a pirate with 30 Mortar ships? They will lower the price instantly by flooding the market with "reclaimed" goods. Because you don't need to balance a production
You cannot be a pirate with ram-ships and flamethrowers. You need speed and capacity. Here is the optimal ship composition for an Ikariam pirate.
One of the biggest misconceptions in Ikariam is that every city must produce everything. A true pirate offloads production to the victim.
Because you don't need to balance a production economy, you can build your cities purely for war. Replace luxury resource buildings with Hideouts, Shipyards, and Barracks. Your "economy" is the Trade Route screen. Your "stock market" is the battle report.
