“Thank you for playing Living Together! Version 0.40b is another step toward our full vision. We’re focusing on deepening character interactions and player agency. Please report bugs on our Discord or Patreon. Next update (0.41) will add a new mini-game and the start of Chapter 6.”
The art style remains a point of discussion. Advent Games uses a semi-realistic 2D anime hybrid with soft lighting. v0.40b adds no new CGs (expected for v0.50), but re-renders three existing scenes with improved shading and facial expressions.
The sound design is sparse but effective: rain loops, a coffee maker percolating, and a single melancholic piano track that plays only during trust conflicts. There is still no voice acting, though the v0.50 roadmap hints at partial voice work for key emotional scenes. Living Together- -v0.40b- -Advent Games-
Advent Games rewrote the underlying branching logic. In previous versions (v0.39 and earlier), dialogue trees could feel static after multiple playthroughs. v0.40b introduces a memory flag system: characters now reference past conversations, gifts, and even arguments. If you ignored Mira for three in-game days, she’ll mention it. If you sided with another roommate during a dispute, that fracture lingers.
At its core, Living Together is a first-person cohabitation simulator. Unlike traditional dating games that fast-track romance through a series of scripted dates, this title focuses on the quiet, often messy reality of sharing a home with another person. “Thank you for playing Living Together
You play as a customizable protagonist who agrees to let a troubled acquaintance—Elena (the primary love interest in the current build)—move into your spare room. What begins as a simple arrangement evolves into a delicate dance of boundaries, personal trauma, and gradual affection.
The keyword “Living Together” isn’t just a title; it’s the central gameplay mechanic. Every action—from cooking breakfast to respecting quiet hours—affects your relationship score. The art style remains a point of discussion

The addition of the fifth roommate—Leo, a night owl musician—shifts household dynamics considerably. Leo’s presence creates new friction with the tidy, morning-person character Sam, leading to event chains that weren’t possible before.
The spotlight in v0.40b falls on Mira, the reserved artist roommate. Previously, Mira’s backstory was hinted at through cryptic dialogue and a locked sketchbook. This update unlocks a multi-stage questline where you discover why she avoids physical touch and refuses to talk about her family. The writing here is notably mature—handling themes of loss and recovery without feeling exploitative.
