• Chihiro’s Breakdown (Internal)
Alone on the train, Chihiro tears up silently. She realizes she’s been using Kousei as an emotional shield against Takumi’s chaotic energy — but the shield is cracking. She doesn’t know if she loves Kousei or just loves not being hurt. The chapter ends with her staring at her phone, Kousei’s “Goodnight” text still unread, and Takumi’s shooting star in her pocket.

  • Chapter 12 doesn’t offer answers — only better questions. It’s a quiet, painful chapter that captures the exhaustion of loving the wrong person for the right reasons. Fans of Soredemo Ashita mo Kareshi ga Ii will appreciate how the author continues to avoid easy love triangle tropes, instead focusing on the protagonist’s internal unraveling.

    Rating for this chapter: 9/10
One point off only because we need more Kousei POV — but maybe that’s the point.

If you are a fan of mature, introspective josei romance, you are likely already hooked on Soredemo Ashita mo Kareshi ga ii (Even So, I’d Rather Have a Boyfriend Tomorrow). This manga, written and illustrated by the talented Kazuki Rai, has carved a niche for itself by rejecting fairy-tale tropes in favor of gritty, psychological realism. It asks a painful question: What do you do when the “perfect” relationship feels like a slowly tightening cage?

As of late 2024, Chapter 11 left readers on a jagged cliffhanger. The pressure is mounting, old wounds are reopening, and the male lead, Subaru, is showing cracks in his flawless facade. Naturally, all eyes are on Chapter 12.

Here is everything you need to know about the upcoming chapter, including raw scans, spoilers, and a deep dive into the narrative stakes.
