The film is loosely inspired by the Hollywood movie My Best Friend's Wedding (1997).

The Premise: Sanjay (Uday Chopra) and Anjali (Tulip Joshi) are childhood best friends. When Anjali calls Sanjay to tell him she is getting married, Sanjay realizes he has always been in love with her but never confessed his feelings.

The Conflict: Sanjay rushes to the wedding venue in Dehradun with a plan to stop the marriage. However, he meets the groom, Rohit (Jimmy Sheirgill), and realizes Rohit is a genuinely nice guy who loves Anjali deeply.

The Drama: Sanjay creates a plan to sabotage the wedding by creating misunderstandings between the families. Matters get complicated when Ria (Bipasha Basu), a fashion designer, enters the scene. To complicate things further, the family assumes Ria is Sanjay's girlfriend.

The Climax: The story revolves around whether Sanjay will succeed in breaking the wedding, or if he will sacrifice his love for his best friend's happiness. It is a tale of friendship, love, and difficult choices.
