The star of the show is the roster. Since Storm Revolution originally stopped before "The Last" movie and the Boruto series, this modpack feels like a massive expansion.

Let’s be real. Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm Revolution was a weird but wonderful entry in the CyberConnect2 series. The Mecha-Naruto storyline, the massive tournament-style “Ninja World Tournament” mode, and the 100+ character roster made it a gem on the PlayStation 3.
But in 2026, most of us have moved on to Storm 4 or Connections. So why fire up the old PS3? Simple: The Boruto Modpack V4.
If you haven’t been paying attention to the modding scene, you’re missing out. A dedicated group of community modders has essentially injected Boruto: Naruto Next Generations directly into Storm Revolution.
Q: My PS3 gives error 80010017 (Game Data Corrupt). A: You did not delete the old Game Data Utility. Delete the 5GB install file from your XMB and reinstall the V4 PKG. The star of the show is the roster
Q: Can I play online with this mod? A: No. PSN will desync, and you will be banned. This is for offline/Adhoc only.
Q: Does this work on RPCS3 (PS3 Emulator for PC)? A: Yes. But you need to decrypt the ISO first. Drag the extracted folder into RPCS3, then enable "Write Color Buffers" under GPU settings, or the Karma marks will be invisible.
Q: Why does Boruto have no voice during the story mode? A: Story mode cutscenes are pre-rendered videos. The mod cannot inject new voices into those old videos. You must read subtitles.
Q: Where is the "Broken" Hokage Naruto (from the Pain arc)? A: That version was removed in V4 to make room for Baryon Mode. You can revert to V3 if you miss it.
Given the PS3’s 256MB of RAM and 256MB of VRAM, how well does this mod run? Given the PS3’s 256MB of RAM and 256MB
Visual Fidelity: The characters are ripped from Storm 4 (PS4) and downscaled. They look slightly jagged on a 4K TV, but on a 720p monitor, they look native.
Step 1: Backup your original game.
Copy the NARUTO SHIPPUDEN ULTIMATE NINJA STORM REVOLUTION folder from dev_hdd0/GAMES/ to your PC. If you mess up, you will need this.
Step 2: Extract the Modpack.
Use 7-Zip to extract the RAR. You will see three folders: USRDIR, PS3_GAME, and LICDIR.
Step 3: Overwrite files.
Connect to your PS3 via FTP (IP address in MultiMAN). Navigate to:
/dev_hdd0/GAMES/NARUTO SHIPPUDEN ULTIMATE NINJA STORM REVOLUTION/PS3_GAME/USRDIR/
Drag the new USRDIR folder into your PS3. Select "Overwrite all."
Step 4: Install the Update File (PKG).
Inside the modpack download, there is a file called UP0001-BLUS31409_00-REVOLUTIONPATCHV4.pkg. Copy this to a USB stick, plug it into your PS3, and install it via "Package Manager." Visual Fidelity: The characters are ripped from Storm
Step 5: Clear your cache.
Go to Game Data Utility on your XMB and delete the old Naruto Revolution game data (not the save file). Reboot your PS3.
