The original BL-5F battery is 950mAh. You’ll charge it twice a day.
Mod: Fit a BL-6P (1250mAh from the Nokia N85) or go custom.
Advanced mod: Remove the battery cage. Solder a 2-pin JST connector to the motherboard. Attach a 3.7V 3500mAh drone battery (size 603040). Use double-sided tape to stick it to the back cover.
Result: 4 days of moderate use.
The N95's 3.5mm jack is soldered weakly to the board. After a decade, it wobbles.
Fix: Open the phone (Torx T6). Desolder the old jack. Solder a PJ-320A replacement (through-hole mount). Drill a tiny hole in the plastic frame and secure the jack with epoxy. This is the most practical Nokia N95 mod for music lovers.
The N95 has a dual-LED flash. By default, it only fires for photos. nokia n95 mod
Mod: Edit C:\system\data\camera.ini and add:
[Flash]
always_on=1
Then, install Torchlight.sisx to map the volume keys to toggle the flash.

These are for the brave. If you mess up, your "multimedia computer" becomes a "paperweight computer."
Hot glue a plastic lens from a disposable camera over the N95's lens. Add a rubber gasket (cut from an inner tube) to hold it in place. The resulting vignette and chromatic aberration are chef's kiss.
The N95 supports up to 3.6Mbps HSDPA. But you can give it a modern internet connection via Bluetooth PAN (Personal Area Networking). The N95 has a dual-LED flash
