Sandboxie is the classic solution for running two or more Shaiya instances on one PC.

On many older Shaiya versions (specifically the Aeria Games era and some private servers like Shaiya Reborn or Shaiya PvP), the anti-dual client protection is superficial.

Why it works: The client checks for a mutex (a lock file) only at launch. Running as a different user or with a slight delay bypasses this.

Running multiple clients (Multi-Boxing) is a staple of the Shaiya private server culture. Whether you are playing on official servers (if still permitted) or the myriad private servers (EP 4.5 to EP 9), the ability to run two or more game windows simultaneously is often considered essential for solo players. While it solves the problem of low server populations, it fundamentally changes the game from an MMORPG into a micro-management simulator.

AutoHotkey cannot open a second client, but it can manage them once open. If you use Method 1 to open two clients, an AHK script can facilitate "broadcasting" (pressing '1' on your keyboard sends '1' to both clients). Note: Some private servers have patched Sandboxie

You don't need Shadows, Anti-aliasing, or high-detail Character Models on your pocket healer. Turn everything to "Low" or "Off" on your secondary client. Keep "High" only on your main DPS.

Window Mode: The multi-client experience relies heavily on running in Windowed mode. Unfortunately, Shaiya’s windowed mode can be unstable, often causing the cursor to clip out of the game window, which makes managing two characters in combat frustrating.
