Code New - Speedplay Activation

Once you have your code in hand, follow these instructions to avoid synchronization errors.

Step 1: Install the pedals.
Mechanical installation first. Ensure the Speedplay cleats are mounted on your cycling shoes and the pedals are torqued to the crank arm (usually 25-30 Nm).

Step 2: Charge and wake the pedals.
The Powerlink pedals have internal batteries. Connect the magnetic charging cable for at least 30 seconds to wake them up. A green LED should flash.

Step 3: Open the Wahoo Fitness App.
Do not use the ELEMNT bike computer app for initial activation. The primary smartphone app handles the license handshake.

Step 4: Pair the pedals.
Go to the sensor menu. The pedals should appear as “Speedlink X-XXX.” Tap to pair. speedplay activation code new

Step 5: Enter the code.
When prompted, carefully type your new Speedplay activation code. Watch for common mistakes: the number ‘0’ vs. the letter ‘O’, or ‘1’ vs. ‘I’. Copying and pasting from an email is recommended.

Step 6: Sync and calibrate.
Once the code is accepted, the app will download the power meter firmware. Wait for 100% completion. Then, perform a zero offset (calibration) by holding the pedals stationary and tapping “Calibrate.”

Congratulations! Your pedals now display watts in real-time.

The screen displayed a simple form. Jamie followed three intuitive steps: Once you have your code in hand, follow

  • Select the Product: A dropdown menu appeared. Jamie selected "Speedplay Zero" and entered the purchase date.
  • Jamie didn't just type the code into a random search bar. Instead, the instruction card directed Jamie to the official Speedplay website (or the Wahoo Fitness ecosystem, depending on the specific product generation, as Wahoo acquired Speedplay).

Sitting down with a laptop, Jamie navigated to the Support or Product Registration section. This is the "Digital Garage"—the place where the product goes from being a generic item on a shelf to being your specific equipment.

Jamie picked up the card. It wasn't a scratch-off lottery ticket, but it held value just the same. Printed clearly on the card was a unique alphanumeric string—the Speedplay Activation Code.

Helpful Tip: If you cannot find a physical card, don't panic. Often, the "activation code" for Speedplay products refers to the serial number engraved on the spindle of the pedal or the warranty registration code found on your purchase receipt. For newer smart trainers or advanced product lines, the code is digital and emailed to you. Select the Product: A dropdown menu appeared

If you purchased a new Speedplay Powerlink Zero Power Meter pedal set, the activation code is typically found in one of the following locations:

    | Location | Description | |----------|-------------| | Quick Start Card | A small card inside the pedal box, often with a scratch-off panel (like a gift card). | | Inside the box lid | Printed on a sticker inside the top flap of the cardboard box. | | Email receipt | If purchased directly from Wahoo or a major online retailer, the code may be sent via email upon shipment. | | Wahoo account | Check your order history on www.wahoofitness.com if you bought there. |

⚠️ Do not discard the box or quick start card until you have successfully activated and updated the pedals.
