To discuss Succubus Senki honestly, one must address the elephant in the demonic throne room: the art.
The key illustrator, Rindou Kato, was a master of the Ero-Guro (Erotic Grotesque) style. The character designs are not "cute." They are skeletal, sharp-edged, and unnerving. Lilith has hollow eyes and a perpetual, unnerving smile. The battle backgrounds are water-painted landscapes of twisted bone and black rain.
The H-content (adult scenes) in Succubus Senki is famously dark. It avoids vanilla romance entirely, focusing on themes of nightmare corruption, body horror, and power exchange. Unlike modern "isekai" power fantasies where the hero collects waifus, Succubus Senki forces the player to watch the psychological breaking of their own characters.
This is a game about monstrosity. It asks the player: "Do you feel bad for dominating these soldiers? You shouldn't. You are a Succubus. This is your nature." Succubus Senki
This commitment to its theme is why many critics rank it above generic fantasy eroge. It is uncomfortable to play, and it intends to be.

It’s a grid-based tactical RPG (like Fire Emblem or Final Fantasy Tactics), but: To discuss Succubus Senki honestly, one must address
Your units are mostly female demons, each with unique classes (Dark Mage, Succubus Knight, Temptress, etc.). Angels are the main enemy types, but you eventually recruit fallen angels.

The story follows his efforts to lead the demon lord’s forces to conquer enemy nations, fighting against both human armies and rival demon factions.
Note for players: The story is darker than many typical "monster girl" games, with themes of war, betrayal, and moral ambiguity—there is no purely "good" side. It’s a grid-based tactical RPG (like Fire Emblem
Do not let the adult themes fool you: Succubus Senki is a hardcore tactical RPG. On the surface, it resembles Final Fantasy Tactics or Tactics Ogre. You move units across an isometric grid, utilizing terrain height, flanking bonuses, and elemental magic.
However, the core twist is the "Soul Drain" system.
Furthermore, the game features a "Moral Fluctuation" system. If you use purely seduction tactics, your male soldiers lose loyalty because they view you as a manipulator. If you use brute force, your Succubi lose morale because they find it "uncouth." Balancing the feminist demonic horde against the enslaved mortal army is the game's primary strategic challenge.
The kingdom of humans is caught between a crusade of angels and the demon realm. The angels claim to purify the world — but their methods are ruthless. You play as Lil, a young succubus general, who must:
The tone is dark fantasy with comedic and fanservice elements, but it surprisingly tackles themes like prejudice, propaganda, and forced “purity.”
