If the default passwords fail, you are locked out. Do not panic. Superviewer does not have a "Forgot Password" button like modern cloud software, but it does have a hardware reset and file-manipulation method.
"Superviewer" typically refers to video surveillance management software (VMS) or similar monitoring platforms. These systems often control camera feeds, sensitive recordings, and network configurations.
The Risks:
If that does not work, try admin (matching the username), then try leaving the password field completely blank. If you are using an imported configuration file from a different DVR, the defaults may have been overwritten. superviewer admin password
Superviewer has an "Export Config" feature. Export your settings (including user accounts and camera layouts) to a USB drive or cloud storage. If you ever need to reset the password, you can import the config afterward without redoing everything.
On the login screen, look for a Question mark (?) or "Forgot" link. If available, the system will show a Reset Code (e.g., ABCD-1234-EFGH). You can often use an online "DVR password reset tool" (specific to the chipset) or email that code to the manufacturer's support address.
In several firmware versions (especially rebranded HiSilicon or Novatek chipset devices), the following backdoor credentials were found to work: If the default passwords fail, you are locked out
Or, in some cases, simply leaving the password field empty after entering a specific debug username (root or debug) grants full admin access via RTSP or Telnet on port 23 or 9527.
If you are using a generic or off-brand DVR, be aware:
Before you try anything else, attempt these factory default username and password combinations. They are case-sensitive: Superviewer has an "Export Config" feature
| Username | Password | Notes |
| :--- | :--- | :--- |
| admin | (blank) | Leave the password field completely empty |
| admin | 123456 | Most common 6-digit default |
| admin | admin | Common on older firmware |
| admin | 12345 | 5-digit variant |
| admin | 888888 | Alternate numeric code |
| super | super | If the system uses "Superviewer" as a role |
Important: If the system prompts you to create a password on first boot, the default will not work. You must use the password you set during initial setup.
