The answer is aggregation. Torrentz2.nz is a meta-search engine. It does not store a single .torrent file or piece of media on its own servers. Here is the workflow:

  • Deduplication: The engine removes duplicate results based on file hash.
  • Sorting: It returns a unified list, sorted by seeders/leechers.
  • Redirection: When you click a result, Torrentz2 doesn't give you a magnet link directly. Instead, it redirects you to the source site where the torrent is hosted.
