Not every version listed on Uptodown will work. You must look for a version released around 2016 or early 2017.
Q: Will YouTube for Android 4.1.2 from Uptodown work on my tablet? A: Yes, as long as the tablet runs Android 4.1.x, 4.2.x, or 4.3. It works on Nexus 7 2012, Samsung Tab 3, and others. youtube for android 4.1 2 uptodown

APKMirror is also reputable, but their archive for YouTube on API 16 is limited. Uptodown maintains a dedicated section for "Old Versions" of YouTube, specifically keeping builds from 2015–2017 that are compatible with Jelly Bean.
After installation, open YouTube. You will be greeted with the classic 2018 interface. Logging in may fail initially.
