You cannot correctly update what you do not measure. To check your current firmware version, use one of these three methods:

Steps:

As of mid-2024, the latest stable release for the ZQ630 is V85.20.30Z (always check the site for a newer version). Note that Zebra uses a "rolling release" model—the version available today may be two weeks newer than our reference.

This is the most reliable method for single printers connected via USB.

Connect: Connect the ZQ630 to your PC via USB.

Open the Utility: Launch Zebra Setup Utilities. Select your printer from the list.

Update: Click "Update Firmware". Browse to the firmware file you downloaded and select it.

Wait: The LCD will show a progress bar or a "Updating..." message. Do not unplug the USB or power off the printer. The printer will reboot automatically when finished.
