In IMVU Classic especially, you can trigger certain product actions using commands if the product supports them:

You can change your "Looking For" status using chat commands? No. That is only in the Profile settings. However, you can change your Chat Status (Away, Busy) by typing:
/away or /busy

| /me [action] | The Emote Command. Formats text as a third-person narrative.
Example: /me sits down displays as "Username sits down" in italics. |
| /away | Toggles "Away" status. Your avatar typically displays an idle animation or Zzz’s. |
| /dnd | Toggles "Do Not Disturb" mode. This blocks incoming whispers and chat invites. |
| /find [username] | Locates a user and provides a link to their profile (if they are not in invisible mode). |
| /go [room name] | Deprecated/Variable. In some contexts, attempts to move the user to a named room (functionality varies by client version). |

If your avatar gets stuck inside a couch or wall, do not click the door. Type:
/stand followed by /walk. Then click the floor. This resets your collision detection.
